Classes

Entry Level 1

Suitable for those with no prior ballet experience.

Entry Levels 2, 3, 4

Beginner Level classes which assume basic to moderate understanding of terminology and steps.

Progressive Level 1

Assumes a knowledge of ballet terminology and technique acquired from at least 1 year of adult ballet or 3+ years training in earlier days.

Progressive Level 2

Assumes a knowledge of ballet terminology and technique acquired from at least 2 years of adult ballet or 4+ years training in earlier days.

Progressive Level 3

Assumes a knowledge of ballet terminology and technique acquired from at least 3 years of adult ballet or 5+ years training in earlier days.

Pre-Elementary

Assumes a knowledge of ballet terminology and technique acquired from at least 4 years of adult ballet or 6+ years training in earlier days.

Elementary

Assumes a knowledge of ballet terminology and technique acquired from at least 5 years of adult ballet or 6+ years training in earlier days.

Intermediate

A challenging class! Assumes a knowledge of ballet terminology and technique acquired from at least 6 years of adult ballet or 7+ years training in earlier days.

Contemporary (beginners)

Suited to students from  Entry Level, Progressive level 1 or Progressive level 2.  No prior experience in Contemporary dance is required.

Contemporary (experienced)

Suited to students from Progressive Level 3 and above.   No prior experience in Contemporary dance is required.

Barre Plus (beginners)

A ballet class structured in the traditional manner, but does not contain the allegro (jumping) component. Ideal for students who are:

  • older
  • pregnant or returning after pregnancy
  • recovering from illness or injury
  • with physical limitations. 

No prior ballet experience required.

Barre Plus (experienced)

A ballet class structured in the traditional manner, but does not contain the allegro (jumping) component. Ideal for students who are:

  • older
  • pregnant or returning after pregnancy
  • recovering from illness or injury
  • with physical limitations. 

Suitable for students at or above PL1 level.

Floor Barre

A mat-based class but with a very direct connection to barre work, strength building and improving alignment to further your development as a dancer. Suitable for all class levels.

Ballet Preparation

An ideal class for mid-term applicants with no prior ballet experience. It covers basic steps and positions and includes stretching and strengthening exercises, preparing for joining Entry Level 1 the following term.
